High-level sport in Cortina kicks off with great energy!
The 2022-2023 winter season has officially started in Cortina d'Ampezzo (BL) – Italy. Once again, the “Queen of the Dolomites” will be the great international protagonist of glamour and high-level sport events with the eagerly awaited appointments of the Snowboard World Cup and the Fis Ski World Cup.
Visa SpA is cooperating with Cortina Foundation once again through the technical sponsorship supplying a series of generating sets designed for mountain applications to guarantee support in any condition with maximum reliability and limited environmental impact. The gensets are set up to operate in parallel mode to ensure back-up energy for ski slope lighting, safety, television broadcasts and entertainment activities.
On December 17th the Parallel Giant Slalom of the Snowboard World Cup will take place on the Tondi slope in Faloria on illuminated track which is expected to be extremely suggestive. The program includes qualifying in the afternoon from 2 pm to 4 pm while the finals take place at 6 pm at night. The whole show will be surrounded by official ceremonies and entertainment events.
But Cortina certainly does not stop there, going on to offer great emotions with the Fis Ski World Cup, an event which celebrates its 30th anniversary marking one of the most exciting moments in women’s sport. In January 2023 the most famous athletes of the world will compete in the Olympia slope in the Tofane mountains, one of the most spectacular ski run: on Friday 20th in the Super-G, on Saturday 21st in the downhill and on Sunday 22nd in the Super-G again.
On 27th and 28th January, Snowboard will display great show again through the Snowboard Cross World Cup in the Socrepes area, also at night.
