Ongoing Collaboration Between Visa SpA and Baudouin for the Development of High-Performance Solutions
The collaboration between Visa SpA and Baudouin, an internationally recognized leader in industrial diesel engine production, continues with the development of high-power generators compliant with the latest and strictest European environmental regulations. The project resulted in the creation of the Onis Visa BD1255CO 1250 kVA, equipped with the new Baudouin 12M33 Stage V engine and intended for a major European energy rental company.
Thanks to its well-known expertise in debugging, testing and collaboration with the supplier, Visa SpA has been selected as the first company to integrate the new Baudouin 12M33 Stage V engine into a high-power generating set.
Project purpose
To produce a high-performance Stage V genset, specifically designed for the professional rental sector, ensuring:
- Compliance with EU Stage V NRMM regulations
- High operational reliability and durability
- Ease of maintenance and handling
- Emission reduction and compatibility with renewable fuels
Testing and Validation at Visa test rooms
The Onis Visa BD1255CO prototype successfully passed a series of rigorous functional and performance tests carried out in the Visa SpA test rooms, equipped with advanced load banks and analytical instrumentation.
During testing, the genset underwent:
- Progressive and continuous load tests up to rated power
- Emission parameter verification in compliance with EU Stage V standards
- Thermal and vibration stability tests to validate mechanical robustness
- Analysis of electrical efficiency and specific fuel consumption
- Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) checks and control system response
- Extended operation tests (endurance tests) to confirm long-term reliability
The close collaboration between Visa and Baudouin engineering teams during testing and validation allowed the implementation of several product optimizations aimed at improving performance, efficiency and quality.
