The Kurzras-Grawand cable car facility relies on Visa energy

The 'Kurzras–Grawand' cable car, constructed by Doppelmayr Italia Srl, is a state-of-the-art and highly prestigious facility in the Val Senales region. It begins in Maso Corto (Kurzras) and ascends to the mountain station at an altitude of 3,212 meters, home to Hotel Grawand, the highest hotel in Europe.

This facility has played a fundamental role in boosting tourism and economic growth in the valley. Originally conceived in 1975 as a groundbreaking project, it was a pioneer of its time. Recently, the cableway underwent a complete renovation by Doppelmayr, which included extensive technical upgrades and a full reconstruction of its mechanical systems.

Safety is an essential aspect of the cable car's operation, ensured by Visa generating sets renowned for their reliability and quality. These generators supply emergency power during blackouts, sustain the main systems, maintain operational functionality and support both evacuation procedures and routine maintenance.

Purpose 

Provide a reliable emergency power system to ensure operational continuity, maximum safety and risk reduction.

Technical features

The gensets supplied are 2 units of model F 600 GXP, P.R.P. Continuous power of 600.0 kVA each, L.T.P. Emergency power of 660 kVA, in silent version. They are equipped with FPT Industrial engine model CR16TE1W, complete with engine preheater, thermostat and timer, coupled with Stamford alternator model HCI5F. 

The are complete with an integrated 800-liter fuel-tank, standard fuel retention basin and oil collection tray with leak detection sensor, and external fuel loading system. 
The baseframe features additional risers for height and ease of transport. 

Control panel 

Both generators have an automatic control panel Guard Revolution with 4-pole circuit breaker. Possibility of remote control via PC through the control room.  

Remote monitoring 

The machines are equipped with the WebSupervisorPlus remote monitoring system through a GSM connection, which allows the customer to control operating parameters and alarms in real time. This allows immediate interventions in case of need, including the possibility of starting or stopping the system remotely. The Visa technical staff is always connected remotely to guarantee immediate assistance to the machine in case of any need.
